He served as CISO of El Al Airlines from 2020 to 2024, where he was responsible for securing Israel's national carrier against nation-state and criminal threat actors. Prior to that, he held CTO roles at multiple high-growth technology companies, overseeing product security and enterprise architecture. He is the co-founder of Cybecs, an enterprise cybersecurity services firm offering vCISO, penetration testing, incident response, and regulatory compliance; and RedRok, an AI-powered Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) platform for attack surface management and dark web intelligence. Asaf advises CEOs, boards, and CISOs on cyber risk strategy, regulatory compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS), and the transition to resilient, zero-trust security architectures.
From Aviation to the Boardroom
My journey in cybersecurity began long before the field had its current name. Over 30 years, I've witnessed the evolution from physical perimeter security to cloud-native zero trust - and I've had a front-row seat at every major shift.
As CISO of El Al Airlines, I was responsible for securing one of the most targeted organizations in Israel - critical infrastructure, international operations, and a threat landscape that never sleeps. That role shaped my thinking about resilience, risk, and what actually works under pressure.
As a CTO in multiple high-growth tech companies, I learned that security only works when it's built into the product and culture - not bolted on after the fact.
