Accessibility Statement

I want everyone to be able to use asaflevy.co, including people who rely on assistive technology. This statement describes where the site stands, in the spirit of Israel's Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law (1998) and the Service Accessibility Adjustments Regulations (2013), which refer to Israeli Standard 5568 and to WCAG level AA.

1. Conformance target and status

The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. In September 2026 the main page templates in both languages were checked with an automated audit tool (axe-core, WCAG 2.1 A/AA rules) by manual keyboard testing, and by a review of the accessibility tree that screen readers read (roles, names, heading outline, reading order) on the home, articles, article, contact and expertise pages. The automated audit reported no violations. Automated tools cover only part of the guidelines; a full manual audit with screen readers by a certified accessibility auditor has not yet been carried out, so the site should be regarded as partially conformant until that review is complete.

2. What has been done

  • Semantic structure: one main heading per page, headings in order, landmarks for header, navigation, content and footer, and a "skip to content" link.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone, including the Expertise menu (opens on focus, closes with Escape) and the cookie banner.
  • A visible focus indicator on every link, button and control.
  • Text colour contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background, and links inside text are underlined, not marked by colour alone.
  • The layout adapts to phones and to browser zoom up to 200% without horizontal scrolling.
  • The Hebrew site is served right-to-left with a Hebrew typeface, and the language of each page is declared for screen readers.
  • Meaningful images have text alternatives; decorative icons and arrows are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Card links announce the article or service title only, not the whole card; callout boxes in articles ("Executive Answer", "Key Numbers") are real headings, so they can be reached by heading navigation.
  • Animation is minimal and switched off when the operating system asks for reduced motion.
  • No time limits, no auto-playing media, no flashing content, no CAPTCHAs.

3. Known limitations

  • Booking a call opens Calendly, a third-party service with its own accessibility practices. If you cannot use it, email me and we will set a time by email.
  • Email addresses on this site are protected against harvesting and are shown only when JavaScript is enabled. The address is asaf at asaflevy dot co.
  • Articles link to external sources whose accessibility I do not control.
  • The site has not yet been tested with every combination of screen reader and browser.
